Women’s Ministries
The department conducts the annual Women’s Day programme and supports the women of the congregation through study, visitation and community work.
Women’s Ministries at Portmore
Women’s Ministries exists to nurture the women of the congregation and to give them a place to serve. The department’s work runs through the year in study groups, visitation and practical help to families in need.
The annual Women’s Day programme is the department’s largest Sabbath, planned and presented by the women of the church.
Much of the department’s work is quiet and is meant to be: a visit to a member who has not been seen, a meal carried to a home, a word to a woman who is carrying more than she has told anyone.
What this department is for
That the women of this congregation are supported spiritually and practically.
That the department’s care reaches beyond the membership into Portmore.
That older women in the faith walk with younger ones.
That women lead in the worship life of the church, not only in its work.
